Here are the top stories in Woodstock-Towne Lake today:

  1. It’s Family Fun Night in Downtown Woodstock, and the “Downtown Campout” fun starts at 5 p.m. The series is held on the third Thursday of the month, May through July, and many of the shops and restaurants along Main and Chambers streets participate in the themed evenings. Tonight, the camping theme will carry through in games, decorations, food and drink specials around the area, and there will be a free showing of the Pixar movie “Up” on The Green. The time for the movie is not stated, but at last month’s event, the movie started at 7 p.m. (Visit Woodstock)
  2. If you’d like to be heard on the city’s future public art installations, the City of Woodstock is offering citizens that chance, by way of the Public Art Survey. The survey is here, you can tell the city where you’d like to see more art, what themes you’d like to see explored, what you definitely don’t want to see and what you do. You can see the timeline and other project details on the survey webpage, along with a separate one-question survey about what, where or who you view as a Woodstock treasure. (Woodstock News Post)
  3. The Cherokee County Aquatic Center is set to hold the “World’s Largest Swim Lesson” on June 22, a global happening at hundreds of aquatic centers, swimming schools and water parks around the world. The event will help teach participants about water safety while having fun at the same time. You can learn more about the event here. The event will run from noon to 12:30 p.m., and participants will need to pay admission into The Oasis, the center’s outdoor pool area. (The Georgia Sun and Cherokee County Communications Division)
