75th Clark County Fair and Horse Show starts Saturday

The 75th Clark County Fair and Horse Show will soon be underway, beginning on Saturday, June 24, and going through Saturday, July 1.

Attendees can expect much to enjoy, including events and entertainment, fair exhibits, livestock shows, motorsports, and pageants.

In years past, as many as 15,000 individuals have attended, with all events occurring at the Clark County Fairgrounds at 4980 Ironworks Road.

On Saturday, June 24, there will be a gate admission of $5 with no carnival rides for the day.

A day of pageantry will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Tiny Miss & Mister, followed by Tiny Tot Miss & Mister. Later, at 11:30 a.m., the Duke & Duchess Pageant will start, immediately followed by the Prince & Princess Pageant. At 2:00 p.m., the final pageant of the day takes place with the Little Mr. & Miss Pageant.

The District Sheep Show takes place between beauty pageants at 10:30 a.m.

On Sunday, June 25, there will be a gate admission of $5 with no carnival rides for the day. From 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., entries for various 4-H, FFA, and Home Economics competitions will be received. The Horse Show, featuring over 20 classes, will start at 2:00 p.m.

As a relatively quiet day, Monday, June 26, will only continue to feature 4-H, FFA, and Home Economics competition entries being received from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, June 27, carnival rides will first be available and continue to be through July 1.

Gate admission will be $12 each day except for Family Night – Wednesday, June 28 – when it will be $10. Children aged two and under may enter for free throughout the week, while children five and under can enter for free on July 1 for gate admission only.

With gate admission, all carnival rides are free for individuals three and older except on Sunday, July 1, when an extra $15 will be charged.

For children two years and under to participate in rides, a $6 hand stamp is needed for each day except on Wednesday, June 28, when the cost gets reduced to $5.

Along with rides, events on Tuesday, June 27, include a Goat Show at 6:00 p.m., Clark County Agriculture Hall of Fame announcement at 7:00 p.m., KOI Drag Racing at 7:00 p.m. and Miss Clark County Pageant at 7:30 p.m.

From 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., 4-H, FFA and Home Economics entries will be exhibited.

Along with rides and exhibits from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., events on Wednesday, June 28, include a 6:00 p.m. Youth Pedal Pull, followed by Mutton Busting and Old-Fashioned Fair Games such as a haybale toss, sack race, greased pig chase, egg toss and more.

Also, a 6:00 p.m. Rabbit Show featuring only Clark County participants will occur.

There will also be a 7:00 p.m. Poultry Show, a 7:30 p.m. Donkey Race and a 7:30 p.m. Miss Teen Clark County Pageant will take place.

Along with rides and exhibits from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., events on Thursday, June 29, include a 6:30 p.m. concert by Sam L. Smith Band & Jordan Miller. At 7:00 p.m., an Open Youth Swine Show and CGTPA Garden Tractor Pull are on the docket. The day’s events conclude with a 7:30 p.m. Miss Pre-Teen Clark County Pageant.

Along with rides and exhibits from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., events on Friday, June 30, include an Open Sheep Show at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Open Mud Run at 7:30 p.m.

Along with rides, entries for 4-H, FFA, and Home Economics competitions can be picked up on Saturday, July 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

At 7:00 p.m., the fair’s last event will start with the Clark County Demolition Derby featuring light-weld big cars, built mini-cars, and more.
