For some of us, drinking tea is essential to kickstart the day. Many claim that it gives them a boost of energy to get through the day. What makes this drink amazing is that you can drink tea any time of the day, and there’s no one way to concoct this potion. Now, a 100-years old great grandma has claimed that tea is the secret of her long life.

Irene Sproston who lives in Stoke-on-Trent, England for 65 years recently celebrated her milestone and was visited by her loved ones. Irene’s husband, Eric was a former miner who passed away in 2003. They married when she was 19 and her partner was 21. They have four children, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

To a news portal, she said that she has always “tried to be kind”, and people too have been kind to her in return. She has an amazing family and many friends. Irene claimed that she has a lot to be thankful for and feels overwhelmed. She said that she never thought she would be able to make it to 100 and has managed it. She credits being busy and never being idle as playing a huge role. She expressed her gratitude and said that while life has been rough, she kept going. Such is her popularity in the area that Irene received cards from people she does not know, but saw the decorations and just wanted to congratulate her.

Her daughter Carole Ball lives with her, while her granddaughter Nicola Belford lives next door. Carole claimed that her mother has always been welcoming and would always have a kettle ready for her friends as well as for her Nicolas. As per Nicola, Irene is an amazing and inspirational lady who holds the family together.
