Hello everyone.

I like to drop in every year or so and say hello. Im still living in the SW. Been here for 8 or so years now. My kids are 15 and 17. My younger, James, is a massive Exeter City fan, as am I nowadays, if I am honest. We’ve got season tickets, which I have just renewed. We do aways as well, although less this season just gone because I got made redundant from my job before christmas and had to go and get another one. We still did Lincoln, Portsmouth (what a ground that is, WHAT a ground), and a few other decent ones. Exeter City had a pretty good season in their first season back in league one although their best player got arrested around Christmas for punching a lady in the face in Exeter High Street (allegedly, of course) and hasn’t played since. Also City’s manager left for Rotherham and got replaced by another manager who only likes buying players from Scotland. Anyway, me and James are doing an interview on the City website about how everyone should renew their season tickets. I’ll post a link up here. I still see Mr Flava a fair bit. He doesn’t go to as many City matches as me because his wife makes him go to fun runs and so on. I haven’t got a wife since the last one left me, so I get to go to more football matches.

Anyway, I must admit I found Arsenals season just gone very compelling, I watched every possible game on telly. I would’nt set foot back in a premier league football ground if I was paid, but I must admit the likes of Martinelli, Saka, and Odegaard refuelled my interest in Arsenal again, albeit as an Armchair fan this time round. I would say though, with the right players around him, I think Xhaka came into his own, and would be my vote for player of the season. It would be a huge mistake if he went back to the Bundesliga. Far more difficult to replace than people seem to think.

Its a shame it all came undone at the end. I was very much critical of Man City / the Premier league, for allowing them to purchase players like Haaland etc and pay them unlimited wages. In the old days you could lose 6 games in a season and still win the league. Nowadays it needs to be about 1 or 2 at the most. But my argument was weakened a bit when Arsenal drew at home to Southampton, then lost to Brighton and Forest. Running on empty at the end. Perhaps Arteta should have thrown the cups and the Europa league. Saka by the end looked absolutely dead on his feet. He’d played a world cup half way through the season as well dont forget.

Anyway, its all a sh*t show. Hope you are all well. Dont forget to stop watching Arsenal and visit your local league one or two football ground. You know it makes sense.

cheers
