Aston Villa have been given a huge boost as one of their transfer targets has told Leeds United he wants to leave this summer, according to a report.

Leeds look set to lose several of their top players following their relegation from the Premier League. Sam Allardyce was brought in by the Whites to try and save their season with four games remaining, but they only picked up one point in those matches and were resultantly relegated in 19th place.

Tyler Adams, Crysencio Summerville, Willy Gnonto, Jack Harrison and Robin Koch are just some of the players likely to depart Elland Road ahead of next term.

Brighton have been named as potential suitors for Adams after TEAMtalk exclusively revealed he has told Leeds he wants out, while Gnonto could achieve a big move back to Italy as Juventus are targeting him.

Harrison is on Newcastle’s shortlist as they look to bolster their options out wide, while centre-back Koch has been linked with a shock transfer to Manchester United.

That leaves Summerville. The 21-year-old, who can operate as a winger on either flank, put in some good performances despite Leeds’ struggles last season.

His best form came in October and November, when he scored in four consecutive league games to help Leeds win two of those outings.

Arguably the most dramatic of those goals came against Liverpool at Anfield. The match was delicately poised at 1-1 following goals from Rodrigo and Mo Salah when Summerville took a couple of neat touches in the box before poking the ball past Reds goalkeeper Alisson.

Leeds star wants out amid Aston Villa rumours

Summerville’s exciting displays, plus Leeds’ troublesome situation, have put several clubs on the wide man’s trail. Newcastle, Borussia Dortmund and Feyenoord have all been linked, though at this moment in time it seems to be Aston Villa who are pushing the most to complete a deal.

And a big update has now arrived from Dutch source 1908.nl (via Sport Witness). The report mainly focuses on Feyenoord’s chances of re-signing Summerville, who came through the Dutch club’s academy before heading to Leeds in September 2020.

Feyenoord are fully aware of the Netherlands U21 international’s exceptional talent. Plus, manager Arne Slot has spoken with the player about a return to the Netherlands.

But the Feyenoord hierarchy are unsure about re-signing Summerville as when he was originally at the club he got involved in a fight with one of his team-mates.

In a major lift for Villa, the report reveals that Summerville has told Leeds he does not want to be playing in the Championship with them next season.

He feels he has performed well enough to play in one of Europe’s top five leagues, which is the exact kind of move Villa are able to offer him.

Summerville also wants to ensure he is playing at the highest level possible to give himself a chance of making the Netherlands squad for the 2024 Euros.

It seems Summerville will jump at the chance to join Villa if they come calling for him. But first, Unai Emery’s side must enter negotiations with Leeds.

In April, Leeds gave the attacker a £25-30million price tag. Although, Villa should be able to reach an agreement for less than this following Leeds’ relegation.

Of course, the likes of Newcastle and Dortmund must be fended off before Villa can sign Summerville. But the Villans have shown their pull power with the captures of Youri Tielemans, Philippe Coutinho and Boubacar Kamara in recent transfer windows and Emery will therefore be fully confident his side can win the transfer pursuit.
