BBC Saturday Kitchen under fire over rule break as viewers say ‘it’s unhinged’

BBC Saturday Kitchen has come under fire after offering up Chris Evans both his food heaven AND hell on Saturday. BBC viewers were left angry when Chris got BOTH dishes – something other celebrity guests don’t get.

On Twitter, Saturday Kitchen said: “So will it be food heaven or food hell for Chris? Are you in the mood for some seafood? Or will the combination of American and English breakfasts win your vote? The choice is yours.” His food heaven was Roasted Monkfish with a summertime minestrone and saffron potatoes. Hell was American pancakes with maple syrup and bacon.

Andrew fumed: “How dare #SaturdayKitchen ask viewers to vote for heaven & hell, and then, because viewers vote for hell, give the guest heaven anyway?” Jackie asked: “Oh – that’s poor! I didn’t watch today; who was the favoured guest?.” Andrew replied: “Chris Evans.”

The popular BBC show, hosted by chef Matt Tebbutt, normally has the audience voting for dishes a guest either has as their heaven or their hell. Henry said: “#SaturdayKitchen. Why did they give Chris Evans his Heaven AND his Hell? This ****show is really going down hill. And Matt needs to calm down a bit. He is getting more and more unhinged.”

“Hang on they’ve done his heaven too, no one else gets that #saturdaykitchen,” Chris typed. Michael shared: “@SaturdayKitchen It could have been prime steaks for heaven and we would still vote hell as Evens is a bit of a ****.!.”

“I voted hell for Evans even though it isn’t, it’s a full English breakfast (heaven by any other name) with a pancake (which he can bin) – *******!… #saturdaykitchen,” Mr Chambers fumed. Andrew wrote: “It’s time #SaturdayKitchen dropped the heaven & hell thing too. All the sleb guests have been on so many times, they now have to invent hell in particular. Evans basically said the producers picked it for him earlier.”
