Manchester City head into Saturday’s FA Cup final as recently crowned Premier League champions, winning the league for the third year in a row and for the fifth time in six seasons.

Saturday’s match at Wembley acts as part two of potential treble up for grabs for Pep Guardiola’s side, with a Champions League final against Inter Milan still to play next weekend in Istanbul.

The Citizens are looking to win their seventh FA Cup, and their first since 2019, beating Chelsea, Arsenal, Bristol City, Burnley and Sheffield United, keeping clean sheets in all five games, to book their place in Saturday’s final.

Despite Arsenal leading the Premier League for the majority of the season, Man City timed their run of being back to their best perfectly, winning the league by five points in the end, with three games left to play.

City are winless in their last two matches in preparation for Saturday’s final, drawing 1-1 at Brighton before losing 1-0 to Brentford on the final day of the season on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester United are the oldest cup competition in world football’s second most successful team, and will be planning to win their 12th FA Cup final on Saturday, which would take them just one shy of Arsenal’s record.

Erik ten Hag has impressed in his first season in charge at Old Trafford, securing a third place finish in the Premier League after their sixth place finish last season, and winning the Carabao Cup.

The Red Devils’ Carabao Cup final victory in February leaves the club looking to win their first ever domestic cup double on Saturday, which was also their first time winning a trophy since 2017.

Man Utd haven’t won the FA Cup since 2016 when they needed extra time to defeat Crystal Palace under another Dutchman, Louis van Gaal.

The Red Devils have seen of Everton, Reading, West Ham, Fulham and Brighton en route to reaching their first FA Cup final since 2018.

United are in the better form out of the two sides heading into the final having won their last four matches to seal their top three finish, the most recent of which being a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Fulham on Sunday’s final day of the Premier League season.

Man Utd won the most recent meeting between the two sides back in January, ending their three match losing run against Guardiola’s side, though Saturday’s match will be the two sides’ first ever meeting in an FA Cup final.
