Bicester Mayor Takes On First Task In New Role

Bicester’s new mayor Cllr Harry Knight will host the first official meeting in his new role.

Cllr Knight will host the Annual Town Meeting on Monday, May 22, at Garth House, Garth Park, off Launton Road, Bicester, from 7pm. The meeting is open to all to attend.

Cllr Knight was sworn in as Bicester’s new Mayor at the Annual Mayor Making Ceremony on Monday, May 15, taking over the role from former councillor Alex Thrupp.

Mr Thrupp, who was mayor in 2022 to 2023, performed his final act as Town Mayor by handing out Good Citizen Awards and a share of the money raised during his mayoral year to three charities: Causeway Carers, Heyford and Bicester Veterans and Nais House.

During his mayoral year, Cllr Knight will raise money for Bicester Baby Bank.
