Blackburn Rovers reveal 2023/24 kit details and season ticket figures

Blackburn Rovers reveal 2023/24 kit details and season ticket figures

The club have increased the number of orders to 15,000, an increase of 25 per cent, in order to meet the demand having seen the 2022/23 shirts sell out.

Rovers are in the process of finalising the front of shirt sponsorship for next season, with Totally Wicked’s initial one-year deal having come to an end this summer.

Macron signed a five-year deal in 2021, replacing Umbro, and will continue as manufacturer for the shirts and training wear.

Kit supplies are said to be with the brand in Italy and are waiting to be shipped across, with the hope ‘initial supplies’ will be on sale from early July.

The club confirmed they had increased the order of home shirts from 12,000 given the higher than expected sales figure, with no further supplies able to be ordered in time.

Meanwhile, the club also revealed they have sold 7,300 season tickets to date, generating an income of £1.97m.

Steve Waggott said at the recent fans’ forum meeting that it equated to a renewal rate of 82 per cent from last season.

It was revealed that 859 supporters are yet to renew, while 540 had signed up for a season ticket who didn’t have the full 23-game package in 2022/23.

Waggott said this was the ‘best response in five years’ and sales in phase one, which ran until May 7, had been above the target of up to 6,500.

The chief executive did stay however that there would be no third sales phase.

Phase two was set to run until May 26, with a further price range after that date, but Waggott said that would only have been if Rovers were to win promotion to the Premier League.

He confirmed that prices will now be held at the phase two level.

Elsewhere, Waggott confirmed the club were looking to stage a ‘marquee’ friendly on the weekend before the 2023/24 season at Ewood Park.

It is expected that will come against overseas opposition, although full pre-season plans are yet to be announced.

The club have so far only confirmed a friendly against Accrington Stanley on Saturday, July 8 before heading overseas for a training camp where it is hoped Rovers will play two matches.

Waggott however ruled out Spain as the destination, with Rovers having travelled to Marbella for a winter training camp during the World Cup break in November.

It was also revealed at the meeting that Rovers banked around £1.5m from the televised matches in 2022/23, with the club having been shown live on Sky Sports more than any Championship team.

Waggott said that figure would be offset against the losses made by the club and covered by the owners.

The Rovers CEO was concerned by the possible effects of the new Sky Sports television package on top of the red button coverage of midweek matches he had previously expressed.
