Boris Johnson enjoys village fair with Carrie and kids

The former Prime Minister has bought the £3.8 million Brightwell Manor in Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, a nine-bedroom grade II listed property with a three-sided moat.

He was joined by his wife Carrie, 35, and their two young children Wilfred, three, and Romy, one, at the village’s annual Spring Fair at St Agatha’s Church on Saturday, May 20.

It came just a day after Mrs Johnson announced she was pregnant with the couple’s third child, which is expected in just a few weeks.

Mr Johnson, 58, who wore a check shirt under a dark blazer, chatted with villagers and posed for photos with Revd Kevin Beer on a sunny afternoon.

The fair featured a bouncy castle, bottle tombola, plant and book sale and a teddy bear parachute contest from the top of the church.

Some villagers have raised fears about the armed police and security that has arrived with Mr Johnson, with one even confronting him as he left the village shop.

The move has also raised questions about the possibility he might stand for his former seat of Henley, although a source in the local Conservative party said it was unlikely.

It has also been revealed that Thames Valley Police are investigating fresh claims that Mr Johnson broke lockdown rules during the pandemic by allegedly allowing friends to visit Chequers when he was prime minister.
