Bulls’ Patrick Beverley dubs Karl-Anthony Towns best offensive player

Bulls’ Patrick Beverley dubs Karl-Anthony Towns best offensive player

The Chicago Bulls have a ton of interesting characters on the roster. Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic are all multiple-time All-Stars, but past that, some of the team’s role players make sure to find their way into the spotlight, too. And this past season, they added one of those guys in Partick Beverley.

Beverley has made a name for himself as one of the most vocal players in the NBA. His outspokenness and on-court leadership style are why opposing fans hate him and home fans love him. During a recent edition of his podcast, “The Pat Bev Pod,” he made a wild claim that got him in the news once again.

In the same season that Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic won the championship and Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid won MVP, Beverley claimed that Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns is the best offensive center in the league.

“My man when it comes to like offensively gifted players, I say, man… it’s two people, bro,” Beverley said. “It’s KAT [Towns], and it’s James Harden, and I think I got KAT [at number one].”

First and foremost, Towns is an extremely skilled center. His three-point stroke has him up there with the best shooting big men in the history of the game. But better than Jokic and Embiid? That might be a stretch.

And if the argument for Harden being on the list is his mix of playmaking and scoring, why wouldn’t Jokic be mentioned?

Beverley’s argument is obviously subjective, and Towns and Harden are both elite offensive talents, but it’s certainly an eye-opening claim based on the past year.
