Eugene Mahair Jr. | Obituary
Salisbury – Eugene A. Mahair Jr. 80, of Salisbury, MA., passed away on May 2, 2023, after a lengthy illness. He was predeceased by his wife, Ida Mahair (Bergeron). He is survived by his daughters, Jody L. Pelletier and her partner Darren J. Soucy of Barrington, N.H., Kym Y. Mahair and her partner, Kevin Dunn of Salisbury, MA.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Pelletier) and husband Eric Elliott of Salisbury, MA., Keith Pelletier and partner Amy Riddle of Worcester, MA., Jennifer (Pelletier) and husband, Scott Jemiolo of Dover, N.H., along with great-grandchildren, Chantelle Pelletier, Ashanti Elliott, Kiana Coffey, Alexia Pelletier, Treyvon Elliott, and Jace Pelletier. He was predeceased by his parents, Eugene A. Mahair Sr. and Clarina M. Mahair (Grandmaison) of Salisbury, MA. He is survived by his sister, Alice Randall (Mahair), his brother Richard and wife Irene Mahair (Perron) of Amesbury, MA. and his younger sister Elaine (Mahair) and husband Robert Kelleher of Epping, N.H. as well as many nieces and nephews.
Eugene was born on February 16, 1943, and grew up in Amesbury, MA. and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and was an altar boy at the church. He later moved with his family to Salisbury, MA to the family farm. He worked at the Louis Shoe Company in Amesbury, MA. and spent time outside of his job working on the farm raising cows and baling hay. In his younger days he enjoyed going camping with the family and playing poker. Notable memorable things he did when his children were young, was play “teddy” with Kym when he pretended to be a talking bear and played “Pictionary” before it was ever invented with Kym & Jody drawing pictures and making them guess what it was. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his daughter Kym going for coffee and something sweet to eat. He enjoyed reality TV, ducks and sunflowers and never missed an opportunity to share his sarcasm. He worked hard all his life and provided for his family. He will be sadly missed by all.
A brief graveside service will be held for Eugene and his wife Ida where both will be laid to rest on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Wildwood Cemetery, 132 South Main St. Seabrook, N.H. 03874 followed by a Celebration of Life at the Rand Memorial Church, 134 South Main St. Seabrook, N.H.03874.Are by the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home in Amesbury.
