Everything we know so far about Sheffield murder as investigation delayed by ‘condition of property’

It has been 48 hours since police confirmed they had found a body in a Sheffield property but the incident remains shrouded in mystery.

Officers remain at the scene on Crofton Road on the edges of Middlewood and Hillsborough today (Thursday) as crime scene investigators continue their work. So far, detectives have only confirmed that a body has been found and no further details about the deceased.

On Wednesday night, South Yorkshire Police confirmed that the conditions inside the property where the body was found are hindering their progress. One arrest has so far been made in relation to the discovery

When did this happen?

The body of an individual was found during a property search on Tuesday (May 30). South Yorkshire Police have confirmed that the sad discovery was made at around midday.

The public were made aware of the discovery during an appeal on Tuesday night as officers sought to establish the identity of the deceased. At this time, the exact circumstances surrounding the persons death are unknown.

Where did it happen?

The body was found during a search of property of Crofton Avenue on the edges of Hillsborough and Middlewood in Sheffield. The property is located between the junction with Overton Road and halfway down towards Middlewood Road.
