ITV4 selections: LE BEAU GARCON 3.45 Beverley, Beveragino 4.15 Beverley, Geremia 4.45 Beverley, DICKIEBURD 5.15 Beverley, REACH 5.45 Beverley, The Cookstown Cafu 6.15 Beverley, TWO BROTHERS 6.45 Beverley

THE training combination of Mick and David Easterby have been in terrific form this month and boast several good chances on the competitive Sky Bet Sunday Series card at Beverley where LE BEAU GARCON is fancied to take the opening apprentice handicap.

A course and distance winner as a two-year-old, this strapping son of Brazen Beau followed up at Redcar (both successes on good to firm) next time and was not disgraced in a couple of handicaps off marks between 81 and 85 last season before finishing eighth of 24 in the Bronze Cup over a stretching six furlongs.

Le Beau Garcon seems best on a fast surface so can be forgiven a no show at Musselburgh (good to soft) first time out in April, and he looked on the way back to form at Catterick nine days ago when staying on very strongly into third behind Glory Fighter having been very slowly away due to late blindfold removal.

This return to the much stiffer Beverley is going to suit and, drawn favourably in stall one and now down to a mark of 77, he should go very close.

The Easterbys field last week’s easy Nottingham winner REACH in the Sky Bet Sunday Series Fillies’ Handicap, and this lightly raced daughter of Sea The Stars is probably well handicapped despite a 5lb penalty.

Given that she won by an eased down three lengths that day, it is almost certain that she will be going up by more than 5lb when her new rating is published on Tuesday and, after just seven career starts, there should be more to come anyway.

It looks like Reach has needed plenty of time as, after fetching 260,000 guineas as a foal, she passed through the ring at Doncaster in December, 2021 for just 1,500.

Something must have gone wrong with her but she looked progressive last season, finishing second over a mile-and-a-quarter on this course before winning over the stiff mile-and-a-half at Pontefract and, prior to that Nottingham win, had signalled a return to form was imminent when finishing a very good fourth from stall 20 behind Kihavah in a hot handicap at York’s Dante meeting.

Later on, TWO BROTHERS, a stable companion of Le Beau Garcon and Reach, looks to have solid claims too in the Sky Bet Sunday Series Middle Distance Handicap.

Like the aforementioned pair, this five-year-old son of Sir Percy will go to post at the top of his game following a course and distance win in April (good to soft) and two subsequent seconds at Chester and Hamilton (faster ground) on the latter occasion splitting Good Show and Onesmoothoperator at Class 3 level, whereas this is one notch lower.

At Chester, Two Brothers beat the reopposing The Nu Form Way a nose into third but can renew rivalry on 4lb better terms with the additional bonus that jockey Adam Farragher can claim his 3lb allowance whereas he was unable to that day in a race confined to apprentices.

Finally, DICKIEBURD could take some pegging back from stall two (one off the far rail) in the five-furlong Sky Bet Sunday Series 3YO Sprint Handicap.

A surprise winner at Chester last season, this speedy son of Cracksman (from a family of five-furlong winners), returned from a two-and-a-half month absence to run a blinder at 33/1 in last Saturday’s three-year-old Dash at Epsom where he was on the pace all the way and kept on well in the final half furlong to finish third behind Tatterstall and Miss Brazen who have both been in good form this season.

Providing he is none the worse for those exertions, this lightly-raced gelding aboard whom young William Pyle again takes off 7lb could well handle a 1lb rise in the ratings on just his eighth career start.
