Friday evening racing tips for Goodwood, Fontwell, Aintree, Fairyhouse and Cork

We’ll start with some details on the horses we are backing, then you can get a full list of the tips across all the racecourses at the bottom of the page.

Don’t forget to check out the racecards, results and live odds in
Planet Sport’s racing live centre.

17:30 (Goodwood) Shirlaski

What A Question has a lot going for her on paper and, along with fellow debutants Perfect Spring and She Wore No Jewels, warrants serious thought.

However, the previous experience held by Shirlaski is a vital factor and, given the form of her debut is working out, the daughter of Eqtidaar appeals strongly in this intriguing maiden.

Adaay In Devon also caught the eye with a strong finish on her racecourse bow at Wolverhampton and is another to consider.

17:50 (Aintree) Two Past Eight

A fair amount of guesswork is required with these hurdling debutants, with a tentative vote going to Two Past Eight.

The Alan King-trained charge showed a bit more fight on the Flat earlier in the month and may enjoy this change of discipline.

Strike Alliance represents last year’s winning trainer and is another to note if resuming in the same heart that saw him winning on the all-weather in March, while Lord Sam’s Castle also enters calculations.

18:40 (Goodwood) Ravens Ark

Ravens Ark should appreciate a step back up in trip in Goodwood’s William Hill Epic Boost Handicap.

Second over a mile and a half on his return, he was putting in all his best work at the finish and returning to a staying trip should help his cause.

19:00 (Aintree) Post No Bills

Post No Bills has been progressive of late and defied a 9lb rise when making all over 2m5f at Cartmel last month.

Now rated 3lb higher for that success, he can prove difficult to peg back and is fancied to get the better of Barton Knoll, who was pulled up over course and distance last time out after a bad mistake but did finish second prior to that at Doncaster.

Politicise makes some each-way appeal.

19:20 (Fontwell) Pak Army

Pak Army hasn’t looked back since enjoying a switch of headgear in early April and his latest 8lb rise in the handicap might not prevent a four-timer in this sphere.

Phoenix Risen was foiled in his quest to land a hat-trick when runner-up at Newton Abbot last month, but Jeremy Scott’s six-year-old is expected to remain competitive off the same mark here.

Little separates Fanfaron Dino and Tara Iti judged on May’s course and distance encounter and neither can be ruled out.

19:50 (Goodwood) Fairbanks

Fairbanks arrives in search of a hat-trick of victories having improved since being switched into handicap company at Haydock last month.

He backed that performance up at Leicester in impressive style recently and is 5lb well-in under a penalty.

Golspie shaped as though he may benefit from an extra couple of furlongs when fourth at Salisbury on his second start, while Bulldog Spirit could have more to offer following his recent success at Doncaster.

21:00 (Fontwell) Miss Fedora

Although He’s A Latchico took a big step forward when scoring on his handicap bow over an extended 2m1f last month, he has to shoulder top-weight, as well as a 6lb raised mark here.

Therefore, the vote goes to the reopposing Miss Fedora, who is 7lb better off with her rival than when finishing in third behind the selection during the first-mentioned contest.

Walk In The Storm is another to consider in first-time cheekpieces.
