Harry Kane and Declan Rice transfer news as Liverpool rivals fight it out and Manchester United £60m switch targeted

While the likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker have all enjoyed some much-needed downtime in the immediate weeks after Liverpool’s Premier League campaign ended, behind the scenes it has been business as usual for Jurgen Klopp and newly-appointed sporting director Jorg Schmadtke.

So far, despite the window not officially opening until Wednesday, Liverpool have already completed a deal for Brighton and Hove Albion’s World Cup-winning midfielder Alexis Mac Allister. The 24-year-old will wear the No.10 shirt at Anfield and has signed a five-year-deal with the Reds.

In the Premier League, the Reds’ domestic rivals are yet to make any signings during the off-season. Though it promise to be a busy summer for all concerned in the English top flight.

Despite joining up with the England national team at St George’s Park at the weekend, the two biggest sages of the summer are expected to revolve around two instrumental members of Gareth Southgate’s squad: Harry Kane and Declan Rice.

The future of the Tottenham Hotspur captain has been a continued topic of debate in North London over recent years with Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid all said to be eyeing a swoop.

In fact, in the days following the departure of the long-serving Karim Benzema, reports in the national media claimed the fourteen-time European Cup want Kane as the Frenchman’s successor. A report from the Daily Mail claimed it would take an offer in the region of £100m for Daniel Levy to consider a sale.

Like Kane, it is expected to take an eye-watering fee for West Ham United to sanction the departure of Rice, who last week captained the club to Europa League glory. Speaking after the 2-1 over Serie A side Fiorentina in Prague, the England midfielder remained respectful to the Hammers when probed about his future – insisting he still has two years left on his deal at the London Stadium.

So far, Arsenal and Bayern Munich have been named as the two favourites to land the 24-year-old midfielder this summer, with chairman David Sullivan last week admitting a sale this summer is likely.

But despite the ongoing noise surrounding Kane’s future, newly-appointed Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou appears to be closing in on his first signing at White Hart Lane in the form of Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.

According to a report in the London Stanard on Sunday, Tottenham and Brentford are locked in talks over a deal for the goalkeeper with Spurs veteran Hugo Lloris expected to end his 11-year affiliation with the club this summer.

Meanwhile, the Mirror claim that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make a move for Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho, who has struggled for form at Old Trafford since his mega-money move from Borussia Dortmund two years ago. The Mirror’s report adds that United would seek a fee in the region of £60m for the Englishman.

Elsewhere, despite Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar Jr being linked with a move to both Manchester United and Chelsea this summer, the 31-year-old is now reportedly the subject of strong interest from Saudi Arabia.

Recently, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have both moved to the Saudi Pro League, while Manchester City‘s Riyad Mahrez, Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha and Chelsea’s N’golo Kante are all reported to have received lucrative offers.

Yet despite the world’s most expensive footballer still having two years left to run on his current contract at the Parc des Prince, CBS insist representatives of Al-Hilal recently flew to Paris to “test the waters around Neymar’s camp”.
