While the likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker have all enjoyed some much-needed downtime in the immediate weeks after Liverpool’s Premier League campaign ended, behind the scenes it has been business as usual for Jurgen Klopp and newly-appointed sporting director Jorg Schmadtke.

So far, despite the window not officially opening until Wednesday, Liverpool have already completed a deal for Brighton and Hove Albion’s World Cup-winning midfielder Alexis Mac Allister. The 24-year-old will wear the No.10 shirt at Anfield and has signed a five-year-deal with the Reds.

In the Premier League, the Reds’ domestic rivals are yet to make any signings during the off-season. Though it promise to be a busy summer for all concerned in the English top flight.

Despite joining up with the England national team at St George’s Park at the weekend, the two biggest sages of the summer are expected to revolve around two instrumental members of Gareth Southgate’s squad: Harry Kane and Declan Rice.

The future of the Tottenham Hotspur captain has been a continued topic of debate in North London over recent years with Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid all said to be eyeing a swoop.

In fact, in the days following the departure of the long-serving Karim Benzema, reports in the national media claimed the fourteen-time European Cup want Kane as the Frenchman’s successor. A report from the Daily Mail claimed it would take an offer in the region of £100m for Daniel Levy to consider a sale.
