‘Home from home’ café bar joins Starbuck and Nando’s as new Burnley leisure park opening gets closer

The latest offering to be added to Burnley’s upcoming Pioneer Place leisure complex has been announced,

The complex is due to open late this summer and already has Nando’s and Starbucks lined up and will include a cinema. Now national chain Loungers PLC has confirmed it is opening a café bar at the site as well.

Loungers has grown from a single café bar to have more than 200 sites across the country, many of which use the Cosy Club or Lounges brands. Each site has its own individual style and staff are encouraged to engage with the local community through events, charity and community groups.

The new Burnley site will be named Icaro Lounge and will be designed “to cater for all tastes throughout the day with a varied and innovative all-day menu”. Particular attention will be paid to families with a selection of games, books, colouring pencils and pads on offer. A full menu, high-chairs and baby-changing facilities are also available for Little Loungers.

Loungers will be open from breakfast through to evening and bosses say people can expect mouth-watering breakfasts and brunches, high-quality coffee, smoothies and milkshakes, flatbreads, tapas and cocktails. It will offer full gluten-free, vegan and children’s menus and plans to open up for community groups and business networking events.

Gemma Irwin, community manager at Loungers, said: “We’re so looking forward to opening the doors of Icaro Lounge. We hope our family friendly environment and top-notch food and drink offering will prove popular with locals and visitors.
