Your battery in Tears of the Kingdom refers to the amount of charge you have to use Zonai Devices, and is referred to in-game as an Energy Cell. The amount of battery you have in-game is dependent upon the number of Energy Cells you have. When you use a Zonai Device, a small battery will appear on the screen with three green bars inside. Each ‘battery’ represents one Energy Cell, and each green bar inside it represents one Energy Well. Three Energy Wells make up one Energy Cell, and to increase your battery capacity, you’ll need to acquire more Wells.

How do you acquire more Energy Cells in Tears of the Kingdom?

Energy Cells are acquired by trading Crystallized Charges with a Construct at a Crystal Refinery. For every 100 Crystallized Charges, you receive one Energy Well, with three Energy Wells constituting a full Energy Cell.

Crystallized Charges can be acquired in several ways. On the Great Sky Island and in the Depths, you’ll find Zonai Forges, where you can exchange raw Zonaite for Crystallized Charges. Zonaite is plentiful in the Depths, so this is the most efficient means of collecting Charges. Crystallized Charges can also be found in chests in the Depths, as well as from defeating certain bosses such as Flux Constructs.

Once you’ve got 100 Crystallized Charges, head over to a Crystal Refinery. The most accessible one is just past the northern wall of Lookout Landing, atop a large stone plinth. Climb up and talk to the Construct and it will give you the opportunity to convert any multiple of 100 Crystallized Charges into Energy Wells.
