NORTH SWINDON: Syrus Strobel, of The Mews in Watchfield has been sentenced for various driving offences.

Police caught the 18-year-old driving a BMW without due care and attention around the Asda Orbital car park on October 26, 2022. He did not have valid insurance or a driving licence at the time.

Strobel pleaded guilty to the three charges against him and received six penalty points on his driving licence.

He must also pay £240 in fines plus £90 in court costs and £96 to fund victim services.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: John Tibangu, of Wade Road, has pleaded guilty to drink driving.

The 43-year-old had 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when breathalysed by police after driving a Renault Clio along the A3102 Swindon Road in Royal Wootton Bassett on May 19.

The legal alcohol limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

He has been disqualified from driving for 18 months, fined £120, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs as well as £48 to fund victim services.

HIGHWORTH: Graham Willans, of Church View, has pleaded guilty to committing violent offences.

The 34-year-old admitted to assaulting a woman, using threatening or abusive words and behaviour towards her, and beating a police constable on November 25, 2022, and to assaulting the same woman on October 23, 2022.

He received a community order requiring him to carry out up to 30 days of rehab activities and 150 hours of unpaid work in the next month. There was no order for him to pay court costs.

SWINDON: Richard Barnaby, of Sapperton in Gloucestershire, has pleaded guilty to harassing a Swindon woman.

The 44-year-old admitted to contacting his victim through email, social media and a third party between October 1, 2022, and January 15, 2023.

He must pay a £448 fine, pay £85 in court costs as well as £129 to fund victim services, and abide by a restraining order which will last until November 16.

TOWN CENTRE: Thomas Moore, of Curtis Street, has pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in public.

The 43-year-old committed the offence on Faringdon Road in Swindon on March 23.

He received an £80 fine and must also pay £85 in court costs as well as £32 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: George Cox, who lives in a Cheltenham care home, has pleaded guilty to an assault charge.

The 76-year-old beat a woman in Swindon on March 22. He must pay £250 in compensation to his victim as well as a £120 fine and £95 in court costs plus £48 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Michael Watkins, who was residing at Great Western Hotel on Station Road at the time of his court appearance, has pleaded guilty to drug driving.

The 39-year-old drove a Ford Focus along Milton Road in Swindon on December 13, 2022, while having a cocktail of illegal substances in his system.

He had 187 micrograms of cocaine, 3,073 micrograms of Benzoylecgonine, and 5.5 micrograms of cannabis per litre of blood in his body when stopped by police.

He has been disqualified from driving for 12 months and must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work as part of a community order.

Watkins must pay £85 in court costs plus £114 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Nathan Franks, of Meadowview in Hungerford, has admitted to drink driving.

The 28-year-old drove a Ford Kuga along the B4192 in Liddington on October 18, 2022. When breathalysed, he had 58 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

He has been banned from driving for 14 weeks, fined £436, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £174 to fund victim services.
