‘It’s his call’ – Mehmet Dalman puts ball in Aaron Ramsey’s court over Cardiff City homecoming

‘It’s his call’ – Mehmet Dalman puts ball in Aaron Ramsey’s court over Cardiff City homecoming

Mehmet Dalman has confirmed Cardiff City would be interested in bringing Aaron Ramsey back to Cardiff City this summer – should the midfielder set his heart on an emotional homecoming.

Ramsey’s future appears to be up in the air, having so far failed to agree a contract extension with current club Nice, and a return to the capital is rumoured to be an option.

The 32-year-old did little to quash speculation on Friday. On the contrary, he admitted was keen to one day sign for City, although he stopped short of revealing whether a move this summer could be on the cards.

Bluebirds chairman Dalman has also now admitted the club would be interested in bringing Ramsey back to the capital.

“We’ll wait and see,” he told BBC Radio Wales when quizzed on the possibility of signing the Wales skipper. “We’d love to see him back in Cardiff. But really it’s his call more than ours.

“Ramsey will do what he wants to do. If he decides to look at us, we’ll welcome him with open arms. I can’t really say much more than that.”

Dalman’s comments come on the back of the news that Cardiff’s recent EFL transfer embargo has been reduced from three windows to two, meaning they will now be able to pay fees for players in the upcoming January window.
