Kildare Nationalist — Kildare Players To The Fore As Nominees Confirmed for 33rd FAI International Awards

THE nominees of the 33rd FAI International Awards have been confirmed ahead of a ceremony on Tuesday, next June 20 in The Round Room in The Mansion House and Kildare soccer players are very much to the fore in the list of nominees announced.

Leixlip’s Nathan Collins (Wolverhampton Wanderers) has been nominated in the senior men’s international Player of the Year and International Goal of the Year categories.

Colaiste Chiarain, Leixlip student, Luke Kehir, (St Patrick’s Athletic), is one of the three nominee in the Men’s U17 International category while Freya Healy from Newbridge (Peamount United) has been nominated in the Women’s U16 International Player of the Year category.

The performances taken into account are from June 2022 to June 2023, while the SSE Airtricity League Player of the Year takes in the entirety of the 2022 season.

A jury from Soccer Writers’ Ireland helped with the selection of certain categories to help honour those who excelled over the previous year.

The inductees to the FAI Hall of Fame and the Special Merit recipient will be announced prior to the ceremony.
