Liverpool hopes of a top four finish and Champions League football for next season remain alive following Monday’s win at Leicester City.

A first half double from Curtis Jones and a stunning free-kick from Trent Alexander-Arnold set the Reds on course for a comfortable three points against a desperately underwhelming Leicester side, who now look destined for relegation.

While things are going smoothly on the pitch at the moment, there continues to be a degree of turbulence behind the scenes at Anfield as the summer transfer window quickly approaches.

Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest Liverpool news.

Former Liverpool transfer chief Michael Edwards is being considered by West Ham as their new director of football.

Edwards left his role as Liverpool’s sporting director at the end of last season and has been out of football since. However, he is believed to want a return to the game with several clubs interested in attaining his services.

West Ham are said to highly value the potential appointment of Edwards, with the Hammers desperate to improve their recruitment. They are also said to be considering Monaco’s Paul Mitchell, Brentford’s Lee Dykes, Atalanta’s Lee Congerton and former Leeds chief Victor Orta.
