Love Island fans back Yorkshire couple Molly and Mitchel to win series minutes into first episode

The summer of love is back on our TV screens as another series of Love Island gets fans giddy.

This year, Yorkshire is represented as there are two singletons from South Yorkshire on the show. Show presenter Maya Jama said 21-year-old Molly, from Doncaster, “looks lovely” as she strutted into the villa wearing a small but bright red bikini.

And she happened to match with 26-year-old Sheffield gas engineer Mitchel, who showed off his abs in a pair of Baywatch-style shorts. It’s fair to say they caught each other’s eyes immediately.

Maya revealed that rather than the usual format of the girls choosing the boy they want to couple up with, the public had decided which couples they believe would be most compatible. And surely enough, the Yorkshire duo were put together.

Molly said: “As soon as I walked in, Mitchel caught my eye.” While Mitchel said: “She’s my type.”

Many have compared Mitchel to previous contestant, Jack Fincham. @daiswatkins shared: “No one can tell me that Mitchel isn’t a hybrid of Jack Fincham and Luca #LoveIsland.” @maariyah16x asked: “Why does Mitchell look sm like Luca?” @Secretduck9 went on: “Can everyone stop comparing Luca and Mitchel cause I just said Mitchel was hot and I’m starting to see it.”
