MAFS UK’s Owen and Michelle announce they’re expecting a baby
Married at First Sight UK stars Owen Jenkins and Michelle Walder have announced they are expecting their first child together.
The couple tied the knot on the fifth season of the E4 reality show back in 2020 and are preparing to welcome a baby together in December 2023.
Owen and Michelle shared the news with their followers on their joint Instagram account. “So, we’ve got news… #mafsuk #mafsbaby #mafsukbaby #comingdecember2023,” read the caption, alongside two images.

In the first photo, Owen is holding up two bags of ice, while wife Michelle holds her baby bump. The second photo reveals a baby scan, confirming news of the couple’s upcoming addition.
Owen and Michelle share a home together in Sheffield. Viewers will remember Michelle upped sticks and moved from Sussex to the South Yorkshire city to be with her husband shortly after saying ‘I do’.
They’re the second Married at First Sight UK couple to become parents, with fellow MAFS stars Adam Aveling and Tayah Victoria welcoming baby daughter Beau back in October 2022.
Adam was one of many to comment on the couple’s pregnancy announcement post. “Congrats guys!” he wrote, alongside three hands-up emoji signs.
Married at First Sight UK relationship expert Paul Brunson, who was responsible for pairing the couple up in the fifth series, also shared a message in wake of the news, commenting: “You’ll both be incredible parents.”

In an interview with the Sheffield Star last September, Owen and Michelle confirmed they were having talks about what’s next for their relationship and their plans to extend their family.
“We’ve talked about what’s next on the agenda over the next few years, which will be getting a dog and having a thinking about kids and things like that,” said Owen. “It’s kind of weird really, because a couple of years after meeting we should be thinking about getting engaged and married but we obviously fast-tracked that.”
Owen and Michelle also confirmed that they took their first overseas holiday together last year to Rhodes, Greece, which they treated as their long awaited honeymoon.
The couple met on the reality show shortly before the coronavirus lockdown and had to postpone their honeymoon at the time due to travel restrictions.
