The company made the decision after “thoroughly evaluating all available options”.

Movie theaters will be closed on Monday, June 5. We’ve listed the branches that will be closed below:

  • Magdalen Street, Oxfordshire
  • Rigby Road, Blackpool
  • Weston-super mare
  • Ayrshire
  • banbury

The branch in Magdalen Street, Oxfordshire, will close just seven months before its 100th anniversary.

Odeon previously said in a statement: “We can confirm that, after thoroughly evaluating all available options, we have made the very difficult decision to close a small number of its movie theater.

“We know this will be disappointing news for our guests and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.

“We want to thank them for choosing Odeon to enjoy the magic of cinema.

“Taking care of the people is our number one priority and we are looking to secure employment for as many team members as possible at one of our other 116 cinemas across the UK and Ireland. .”

To find your nearest Odeon, make sure to use the branch locator on its website.

Tickets cost around £12.50 online, but that largely depends on where you live and whether you book online or in person.

The movie chain recommends that customers always book tickets online in advance to save the most money.

Cineworld has also been struggling recently after releasing a major update on its bankruptcy exit plan.

The chain said it expected to exit bankruptcy protection in July after receiving support from lenders.

The company stressed that it is continuing to operate its locations “as usual without interruption”.

Retailers such as B&M, Iceland, Lidl and New Look have all recently closed branches and shoppers should check local websites to make sure they are not affected.

However, keep in mind that some stores will be replaced with brand new ones while others will be gone forever.

For example, Lidl, which has 950 locations, will close or relocate some supermarkets this month.

Its stores on Sturry Road, Canterbury and Forton Road in Gosport all close at the end of May.

They closed due to the poor condition of the building and the owners deemed them unfit for purpose.

All affected employees will be assigned roles at alternate locations.
