REPORTS
ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2023-05140222, Washington Boulevard at N. Glebe Road. At approximately 9:42 p.m. on May 14, police were dispatched to the report of a hit and run. Upon arrival, it was determined the victims’ were inside their vehicle and stopped at a red light when the suspect pulled alongside them and attempted to engage them in conversation. When the light changed, the victims’ accelerated and the suspect allegedly struck their vehicle with his before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported. During the course of the investigation, officers identified the suspect, located him and took him into custody. Carl Mehler, 65, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Attempted Malicious Wounding.
ASSAULT BY MOB, 2023-05150023, Wilson Boulevard at N. Highland Street. At approximately 2:14 a.m. on May 15, police conducted a traffic stop during which officers made contact with the injured male victim. The investigation determined the victim became involved in a verbal dispute with three unknown suspects, during which they assaulted him before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital for further evaluation. The suspects are described as a Hispanic male and two Hispanic females. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2023-05120288, 2900 block of S. Glebe Road. At approximately 11:01 p.m. on May 12, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was inside the business when he was approached by the three unknown suspects who engaged him in a dispute regarding cash. During the incident, Suspect One displayed a knife and Suspect Three struck the victim. The three suspects then fled the scene. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspects yielding negative results. Suspect One is described as a White or Hispanic male, approximately 5’7”, in his mid-20s, 160 pounds, with short brown hair and a beard wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. Suspect Two is described as a medium-build, Black female, approximately 5’2” with short braids. Suspect Three is described as a thin-build Black female, approximately 4’11”, in her late teens or early 20s with short black hair and glasses. No injuries were reported and no property was stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2023-05120073, 3400 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 9:19 a.m. on May 12, police were dispatched to the report of threats. Upon arrival, it was determined the unknown suspect whistled to gain the attention of the two female victims and when they looked in his direction, he allegedly exposed himself to them. The suspect is described as a White male. The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2023-05120237, 700 block of N. Abingdon Street. At approximately 8:30 p.m. on May 12, police were dispatched to the report of disorderly conduct. Upon arrival of officers, approximately 25 juveniles dispersed from in front of the home and no one was located inside. The investigation determined the juvenile suspects made entry into the vacant residence, resulting in property damage. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (Late), 2023-05120100, 4300 block of Arlington Boulevard. At approximately 11:25 a.m. on May 12, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 6:00 p.m. on May 8, the female victim discovered personal items were missing from inside her residence. There were no signs of forced entry. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (Late), 2023-05130116, 4900 block of Old Dominion Drive. At approximately 11:42 a.m. on May 13, police were dispatched to the late report of a larceny. Upon arrival, it was determined between approximately May 9, and May 12, the unknown suspect(s) entered into the residence and stole personal items, jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash. No items were reported damaged. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (Late), 2023-05140144, 1100 block of Arlington Boulevard. At approximately 4:11 p.m. on May 14, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim returned to his residence after an extended time away and discovered his computer and collectible items were stolen. There were no signs of forced entry. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
