REPORTS

ROBBERY, 2023-05300017, 1600 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 2:28 a.m. on May 30, police were dispatched to the report of a disorderly conduct. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business and attempted to take merchandise. An employee confronted the suspect, during which the suspect threw the items at the employee and followed him around the business before fleeing the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a Black male with afro-style hair, facial hair and wearing a red shirt, green shorts, and black shoes. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2023-05300282, 900 block of S. Buchanan Street. At approximately 9:15 p.m. on May 30, police were dispatched to the report of a dispute. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim and known male suspect became involved in a verbal dispute, during which the suspect allegedly pushed the victim to the ground and assaulted her. The suspect then took the victim’s keys and fled the scene on foot. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and did not require the treatment of medics. Warrants for Robbery and Strangulation were obtained for the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2023-05300149, 1500 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 12:50 p.m. on May 30, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined an employee observed the unknown male suspect enter into the business and begin to conceal merchandise. While exiting the business with the stolen merchandise, the suspect struck an employee with his shoulder. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a Black male with a beard, approximately 5’7”, 150 pounds, in his 30’s, wearing a baseball cap, blue face mask, black and white long-sleeve shirt, black sweatpants, and gray shoes. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2023-05300124, 900 block of S. Taylor Street. At approximately 11:22 a.m. on May 30, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was in the area when she was approached by the unknown juvenile male suspect, who asked her for money. When the victim declined, the suspect attempted to steal her purse. A brief struggle ensued, during which the suspect allegedly pushed the victim to the ground and fled the scene with the purse. The victim sustained minor injuries and did not require the treatment of medics. During the course of the investigation, responding officers located the victim’s purse nearby and determined a credit card and undisclosed amount of cash had been stolen from inside. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a slim build, approximately 14-15 years old, wearing a black t-shirt, black pants and black shoes. The investigation is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY (Late), 2023-05240195, 2100 block of N. Westmoreland Street. On May 24, an officer reviewing an online report determined the incident was a burglary and made contact with the reporting party. The investigation determined at approximately 5:00 p.m. on May 19, the suspect entered the parking garage to the residential building, exited his vehicle and attempted unsuccessfully to open the garage door. The suspect then reentered the vehicle and fled the scene. No items were reported stolen or damaged. There is no suspect description. The suspect vehicle is described as a gray sedan. The investigation is ongoing.
