New three-day street food festival coming to Somerset town
The first ever three day street food festival is coming to Somerset this summer. The Somerset Street Food Festival will take place at Portishead Lake Grounds from July 7-9, with 20 of the best street food traders from across the UK setting up at the beauty spot.
Each trader will be cooking a different cuisine, from bao buns, Thai, Greek and Afghan, to Mexican, Hungarian, churros and crêpes. Fourpure Brewing Co are sponsoring a live music stage that will host musicians and DJs everyday of the festival.
Live music will start from noon and run until 8pm each day. Seating will be available.

People are being urged to reserve tables of up to six at busy times. There will also be space for camp chairs and picnics for those wanting to sample the street food delights alfresco.
The Somerset Street Food Festival is being run by Street Food Warehouse who run street food festivals across Wales and the south west. A spokesman for Somerset Street Food Festival said: “We’ve wanted to host more festivals in the south west as the population is always so receptive and are generally lovers of good quality food.
“We also run Swansea, Cornwall and Devon Street Food Festival and are so excited to be heading to Somerset to bring people a taste of what we do. Every single trader at our festivals serves a different cuisine, meaning there’s so much choice of quality food on offer.
“ Vendors apply from all across the UK to trade at our events which means we can pick the best street food for people to try. We’re planning to add some entertainment with a live music stage so visitors can enjoy some fantastic food and have a boogie.
“ We can’t wait to start trading in Somerset and hope to get a good turn out in our first year so that we can come back here again and again.” The festival has started to announce some of their incredible food traders for 2023 which will be attending the Somerset festival.
They include ‘The Real Ting’ who will be serving up authentic Jamaican dishes, like their famous festival dumplings with jerk chicken curry. Welsh stall ‘Ychafi’ will be serving up banging fried chicken with loads of sauces and spice levels for everyone.

‘Churros Hermanos’, the brothers who have perfected the art of churros making accompanied with their silky and thick chocolate dipping sauces, will also be attending. Further announcements will be made on the festival’s social media channels where there will also be competitions to win free food.
General entry to the festival is free but tickets are required to enter. People can secure a ticket for each day they want to attend and can come in and out of the festival with the same ticket.
