Next This Morning Host Odds

We have the next This Morning host odds and betting for you after Phillip Schofield announced he is stepping down from the role.

Schofield was host of the UK’s most popular morning TV show for over 20 years after first becoming a presenter of This Morning in 2002. The 61-year-old was a fixture in many people’s morning routines up and down the United Kingdom as they started their day off by viewing the popular ITV show.

When Schofield joined the show in 2002 he was co-hosting with Fern Britton after replacing John Leslie. That partership with Britton lasted until 2009 when Holly Willoughby replaced Britton.

Willoughby and Schofield have had a successful and long lasting partnership as co-hosts of This Morning which lasted almost 15 years. The two are said to be good friends although there have often been rumours of discontent behind the scenes between the two.

Now with Schofield’s reign coming to an end and Holly Willoughby looking set to stay on let’s take a look at who will replace Phillip Schofield as This Morning host according to the betting odds.

Next This Morning Host Odds

Alison Hammond – Next This Morning Host Favourite

Alison Hammond has taken over from Dermot O’Leary as the favourite to replace Phillip Schofield on This Morning after BoyleSports cut her odds into 2/1.

The Irish bookie had chalked up the Birmingham-born Hammond up at 4/1, but those chances have been trimmed after a surge in support, making her the new frontrunner to join Holly Willoughby on the sofa following Schofield’s announcement that he has quit the show.

Alison took over presenting duties alongside Dermot O’Leary on Monday and the regular Friday hosts are fighting it out to host the show on a more permanent basis with Holly if the latest odds are anything to go by.

Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports said:

“Punters reckon it could be an all-female set-up on the sofa and Alison Hammond is the new favourite to host alongside Holly Willoughby as the pair already have a brilliant on-screen rapport.”

Dermot O’Leary

O’Leary was the original 6/4 favourite to land the coveted role, but has since been eased out slightly to 5/2 in the betting.

The Colchester native has plenty of experience presenting the popular ITV morning show already with his first appearance as guest host coming all the way back in 2013 where he filled in for Phillip Schofield for a week.

More recently, O’Leary has been hosting This Morning on Fridays and Bank Holidays alongside next This Morning host favourite Alison Hammond. Given O’Leary’s popularity and presenting experience it’s no surprise to see him among the favourites to join Holly Willoughby as the next permanent This Morning co-host.

Rylan Clark

Next up in the betting to become the next This Morning host is Rylan Clark at odds of 3/1. Those odds see Clark right in the mix among the favourites and only just behind Dermot O’Leary at 5/2.

Rylan originally shot to fame during the 9th series of The X Factor in 2012. It was clear that Clark had a big personality from his time on the show and he landed a gig as a co-host of Big Brother’s Bit on the Side.

His success at hosting that show along with his previous X Factor experience saw him get a spot on This Morning in 2014 where he would discuss the latest happenings from the show.

In recent years Rylan has been one of the primary stand-in hosts on This Morning in cases where one of the permanent hosts weren’t available to present. Rylan’s popularity and experience as stand-in host of This Morning make him a very interesting bet to be the next permanent co-host of the ITV’s popular morning show.

Other Next This Morning Host Favourites

There are plenty of other big names in the running with Stacey Solomon an interesting candidate making her way up the betting. The Loose Women regular is 8/1 from 12/1 to land the gig with Vernon Kay also in the running at 3/1.

Keith Lemon has been added to the market at 33/1, Amanda Holden is 50/1, and Irish presenter Ryan Tubridy, who is set to host The Late Late Show for the final time this Friday, is a 100/1 outsider.
