“Not England” – Jason Robinson’s son receives first rugby international call-up

Jason Robinson’s son Jacob has received his first international call-up after making serious waves with his club Bradford Bulls.

Jacob, who is Robinson’s fourth of five sons, has been called up to play for Scotland U16’s. this summer.

His Dad Jason  is of Scottish and Jamaican descent, which means the speedster is eligible to represent Scotland.

DID YOU KNOW? Robinson is nicknamed ‘Billy Whizz’ after a character in the British comic The Beano, who is an extremely fast runner.

Legendary England speedster Jason Robinson recently took to social media, to share the news that his son Noah has signed for Premier League football giants Manchester City.

The 2003 Rugby World Cup winner said how he was “super proud” of his son’s accomplishment, and it will be exciting to see Noah lighting up the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium in the not so distant future.

Manchester City published an announcement video, confirming that the young Robinson had signed with the Citizens. Jason Robinson’s tweet garnered the attention of some of rugby’s well-known names, who shared their support for the new City star.

Robinson also has other children who are excelling in sport.

His eldest son, Lewis Tierney, is a decorated Rugby League star, who has represented Scotland’s national team. Tierney’s playing career took him to Wigan Warriors, Workington Town, Catalans Dragons and the Leigh Centurions.

The 28-year-old has also won the 2018 Challenge Cup Final, as the Catalans Dragons secured the tittle over his former club Wigan Warriors at Wembley Stadium. Jason has another son called Patrick, who is a professional freerider.

His other son Joseph, who previously played for Wigan Warriors academy, also famously dated Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown a few years back.

Like Jason Robinson, Neil Back’s son has opted against rugby, and has pursued a professional career in football.

Neil Back’s son Fin, is a professional footballer who is currently playing for Carlisle United in the EFL League Two. Fin is signed to Premier League club Nottingham Forest, having progressed into the side through the academy system. The 20-year-old is currently out on loan at Carlisle, and is gaining valuable first team experience in the fourth division of English football.

A versatile footballer, Back is able to play across the midfield and also at right-back.

The British & Irish Lion’s son made his professional debut for Nottingham Forest on 11 August 2021, as he started Forest’s EFL Cup match against Bradford City. Back’s league debut came in the Championship, as Nottingham Forest took on Blackburn Rovers on the 18th August 2021.
