PlayStation-inspired cosmetics come to Destiny 2

Bungie just revealed details for the upcoming one Lot 2 Season of the Deep, featuring tons of new in-game events, fishing (yes, you can fish in Lot 2), and a PlayStation crossover featuring game-inspired armor ornament sets from Sony. The crossover content is part of a “[celebration of] its partnership with PlayStation,” said the blog post announcing and debuting the Season of the Deep launch trailer. Back in January 2022, purchased Sony Lot 2 developer Bungie for $3.6 billionbut it seems that these cosmetics are available no matter what platform you play on.

The armor ornament sets are “inspired by three of the greatest games in PlayStation history”: a Titan ornament set called Godsbane, based on God of wara Hunter set named Annointed for Horizon Forbidden Westand a Warlock set of Ghost of Tsushima called ancestor. Each set also gets its own special finishing move.

Armor ornaments can also be unlocked Destination‘s season passes, and can be equipped with any specific armor they coincide with – once equipped they will completely change the appearance of the armor rather than just the color like a shader would. “The first [concern] is the more direct reinvention of costume details, items and weapons,” said Josh Deeb, head of Bungie, in the blog post. “Then there are the less tangible aspects: their personality and presence. In other words, do these ornaments feel like these characters ?”

Lot 2 will also get based on an emotion Ratchet and Clank, as well as a set of The last of us-inspired vehicles and Ghost shell that looks like your Guardian’s gear is infected with cordyceps. If you want to spread that fungus among us, you might want to grab one of these items. “We know that the environments in games become just as much part of the story as the characters and players within them,” said Deeb. “We wanted to take advantage of the evocative infected images of the mutated fungus and let it invade our world.”

Sony may have bought Bungie over a year ago, but so far this set of cosmetics is the only tangible thing to come out of the purchase. There may be more to come, but for now, hopefully you’ve chosen Destination The class has a suit of armor that you are happy with. Lot 2 Season of the Deep started on Tuesday, May 23 and will run until August 22.
