Police report drivers for Illegal tints, revoked licences and car chases
Several drivers across East Lancashire have been reported for various motoring offences.
Last night (Friday June 2), police spotted a Nissan Juke being driven erratically in Preston Old Road, Blackburn.
When officers pulled the vehicle over they found the driver had a revoked licence.
The driver was reported and the vehicle seized.

Earlier in the week, police spotted a white BMW parked on white zig-zag lines at a pedestrian crossing in Burnley.
Apparently the driver had parked there so he could go and collect a takeaway, but he now faces a fine for his actions.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “The driver of this vehicle in Burnley decided his dinner was a higher priority than the pedestrian crossing, so abandoned the vehicle within the white zig-zags.
“Reported for the offence and now faces three points and a £100 fine in the post.”

Over in Nelson, a black Audi was spotted without a front number plate, which is an automatic £100 fine.
Police said it doesn’t count if the plate is displayed in the windscreen.

A spokesperson said: “This vehicle sighted by HX65 in Nelson, failing to display a front number plate (£100 fine – it doesn’t count if it’s in the windscreen) and window tints measured at 28 per cent (£50 fine, legal minimum is 70 per cent).
“Please keep your car legal and it means we don’t need to stop you!”

Meanwhile, in Whitworth, the driver of an uninsured car led police on a chase before crashing into the side of a house.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving and failing to stop.
The spokesperson said: “This uninsured vehicle led HO41 on a pursuit around Whitworth this evening, however they obviously overestimated their driving skills.
“Thankfully nobody was injured, and nothing damaged (other than the car itself).
“Driver arrested for dangerous driving and failing to stop for police, amongst other offences, and will have to explain their actions to the courts.”

Finally, the driver of a Range Rover in Accrington was caught without an MOT.
The police spokesperson added: “Driver of this Range Rover in Accrington didn’t think he needed an MOT to drive around in since ‘it’s being dropped off at the garage tomorrow’.
“However, since the last MOT expired in March, a £100 fixed penalty was issued by HX65.”
