Receipt for Beyonce’s post-concert curry order revealed

BACKSTAGE crew working for Beyoncé tried to curry favour with the pop superstar — by ordering Indian grub to one of her gigs.

They asked for Indian dishes and pizzas to be taken to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.

As the Crazy In Love singer was wowing the crowd of 48,000, the delivery driver was heading to the ground with a pile of food including a £24 curry tapas box and a £16.49 smashed burger pizza.

The curry tapas included chicken masala, lamb curry, chicken bhuna, vegetable bhaji, pilau rice and chunky chips.

Whoever had the smashed burger pizza had paid an extra £2.50 for a stuffed crust.

Staff at Bombay Barn, in Washington, Tyne and Wear, posted a receipt on Facebook.

It gave details of where to take the food, saying: “Beyoncé Stadium of Light VIP Entrance”.

The caption with the Facebook post read: “Nothing to see here, just a takeaway order for Beyoncé’s crew, with delivery backstage at her gig at he Stadium of Light!”

However, it was not clear what the total spend was.

Social media users questioned if it was genuine but the takeaway replied: “That’s a real order and that’s really where we’re delivering to.”

Bombay Barn manager Arif Sheikh later said: “We were honoured that Beyoncé’s entourage ordered from us.

“We hope they enjoyed the food after a busy show.

“It was a shock that they chose our restaurant but we were thrilled to be able to help them out.”

It comes after Beyoncé called in a huge Nando’s order in Edinburgh before her gig at Murrayfield on Saturday.

She requested 110 chicken burgers and 90 pittas as well an extra nine chicken thighs with a full range of spices plus vegetarian options. The bill was £1,809.35.

The concert in Sunderland on Tuesday was the fifth date on 41-year-old Beyonce’s 40-venue Renaissance world tour, which began in Stockholm on May 10 and finishes in New Orleans in September.

It continues with a run of five concerts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday.
