Numerous key changes will hit the finances of Teessiders and others across the UK from next month.

People who claim some benefits, Nationwide customers and mortgage holders are among those who will be affected. Tesco is also set to make changes to its Clubcard rules in June, twice, which will hit anyone who fills up at a Tesco petrol station as well as those who shop in the supermarket.

June is also the month that you will need to reapply for Tax Credits if you want to still get the benefit, with 1.5 million being contacted as a result. The Mirror has rounded up all the key changes that you need to know about.

Nationwide is paying out £100 to around 3.4 million of its customers between June 13 to June 30. The money will be paid automatically – meaning you don’t need to apply for it – and will show on your bank statement as “Nationwide Fairer Share Payment”.

To be eligible for the payment, you need to have a qualifying current account, plus a savings account or mortgage product with Nationwide. Current accounts must have been opened on or before March 31, 2023, and still be open in June to receive the cash reward.
