Southeastern train changes May bank holiday weekend

Southeastern has announced that there will be a number of service alterations and closures this bank holiday weekend.

From Saturday, May 27 until Monday, May 29

Over the bank holiday weekend Southeastern has announced that there will be engineering works taking place between Gravesend and Strood leading to the closure of some lines.

Trains between London St Pancras International and Ramsgate via Faversham will only run between London St Pancras and Gravesend this weekend.

For passengers using the Sole Street Line, trains between London Victoria and Gillingham, Dover Priory and Ramsgate will only run between London Victoria and Sole Street.

Southeastern has said that additional trains will also be running between Gillingham and Ramsgate and Dover Priory via Faversham.

For passengers using the Medway Valley Line, trains between Paddock Wood and Strood will run hourly between Paddock Wood and Maidstone West.

An accessible bus replacement service will also be running between Meopham and Gillingham calling at all stations except Sole Street.

Further bus replacement services will also run between Gravesend and Gillingham calling at all stations except for Higham and a bus service will run between Gravesend and Maidstone calling at all stations.

Sunday, May 28

Engineering works are taking place around the Lewisham area leading to some services being cancelled or diverted to other stations.

Engineering work is planned to take place between St Johns, Hither Green and Dartford, which will block the lines between Lewisham and Orpington and between Lewisham and Dartford via Sidcup.

There will also be no trains to or from London Charing Cross or London Waterloo East.

Paddock Wood Line: Trains between London Charing Cross and Ramsgate and between London Charing Cross to Dover Priory will be diverted to run to and from London Victoria.

Hastings Line: For passengers travelling by trains between London Charing Cross and Hastings, trains will be retimed and diverted via an alternative route between London Bridge and Orpington, and will not be running to and from London Cannon Street due to further engineering works near London Charing Cross.

Grove Park Line: Trains between London Charing Cross and Sevenoaks will not be running on Sunday.

Bromley South Line: Trains between London Victoria and Orpington will be extended to run to and from Sevenoaks on Sunday.

Sidcup Line: Trains between London Charing Cross and Dartford and London Charing Cross and Gravesend will not be running on Sunday.

Additional trains will be running between London Cannon Street and Gravesend via Woolwich.

Hayes Line: Trains between London Charing Cross and Hayes will run from London Cannon Street instead of London Charing Cross on Sunday.

Southeastern has said that it will be running an accessible replacement bus service between Lewisham and Orpington and Lewisham and Dartford via Sidcup on Sunday.

Southeastern has also said that passengers can travel on the London Underground between Victoria, Charing Cross, Embankment, Waterloo, Southwark and London Bridge at “no extra cost.”
