Stockton building firm to feature on top BBC show after Dragon’s Den appearance

A building company is set to feature on television for a second time.

OGEL, the inventors of the Ogel construction system, which is used to make buildings such as garden rooms and offices from waste plastic, is to feature heavily in the flagship BBC2 programme ‘Your Home Made Perfect’ on Tuesday, July 11, at 8pm. The show is currently in its fourth series.

Founder and CEO of the Norton business, Gary Giles, said: “We were approached by the BBC last August to see if we were interested in getting involved in building a specialist utility room in a house in Croydon, South London and of course we jumped at the opportunity to try something new with our product as we normally only building structures such as garden rooms and offices.”

This isn’t OGEL’s first TV appearance, having successfully appeared in BBC1’s Dragons Den two years ago and agreed investment from industry titans Sara Davies and Tej Lalvani.

Of the current show, Gary said: “The clients Richard and Irene were very keen to use a company with green credentials with minimum disruption to their home life, and as the product is made from waste polystyrene and was built and fitted out in four days we met both criteria.”

Client Richard Francis was more than happy with the end result and said: “The team was professional and efficient throughout the entire process, from initial consultation to final inspection. One of the things that impressed me the most was the company’s commitment to sustainability.
