Swansea City transfer news as Blackburn offered chance to sign star and rookie emerges as a ‘leading’ manager contender

Rovers offered Latibeaudiere
The Lancashire Telegraph report Blackburn Rovers have been offered Swansea’s out-of-contract defender Joel Latibeaudiere.
The 23-year-old is one of three players at the end of their deals in SA1, with Ryan Manning and Kyle Naughton also seeing their terms expire.
Russell Martin wanted all three to remain in south Wales but with the head coach now on course to join Southampton, it appears unlikely the trio will sign on again.

The Telegraph report the Jamaica international has been offered to a number of clubs in the second tier.
Whoever is in charge at Swansea next season will face a big rebuilding job.
Davies ‘one of the leading contenders’
The BBC report that Chris Davies in ‘one of the leading contenders’ to succeed Martin in the Swansea dugout.
The 38-year-old remains the bookies’ favourite for the top job. He’s learned his trade alongside former Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers, working with him while in south Wales and also at Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester City.
The same report states Davies is “keen to become a manager in his own right” and his coaching ethos would certainly appeal to Swansea higher-ups.

Manning snubbed
Ryan Manning has one again been left out of the Republic of Ireland’s upcoming internationals.
The Irish face Euro 2024 qualifiers with Greece and Gibraltar.
Manning, as stated above, is now a free agent and was one of Swansea’s standout performers last term and was named Swansea City Supporters’ Player of the Season.
He scored five goals and contributed nine assists but has been overlooked by boss Stephen Kenny.
Kenny has previously spoken on why he favours Callum O’Dowda to Manning in his selections.
“We have several players in that position”, said Kenny earlier this year. “It’s very tight, a lot of players playing in the Championship. Callum, in my opinion, has probably been Cardiff’s Player of the Year this year and I think he offers us something different as well.
“Callum is quick and dribbles at pace and he’s very direct, a different type of player, but Ryan is an excellent player, there’s no doubt, and offers different qualities, coming on the inside and playing, and a really good footballer.
“Robbie (Brady) had a really good spell earlier in the season. I thought he was absolutely excellent for Preston earlier in the season. I was full of admiration for how well he was playing.
“In recent weeks, he’s not been in the team – although he did play midweek – and we’ve been at a lot of Preston’s game, we’ve got a lot of players, so these are the fine margins, you know.”
Joma deal extended
Swansea and kit manufacturers Joma have extended their partnership together for another two years.
The deal will now include the length of the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.
The Spanish brand will continue to produce kit, training gear and equipment for the club over that time period.
