Swansea City transfer news as stance on two managerial candidates revealed and ex-Arsenal starlet linked

Here’s your round-up of all the latest Swansea City news for Wednesday, June 14.

Hoefkens and Maloney links played down

Swansea City insiders have played down links with Belgian boss Carl Hoefkens.

Reports in Belgium claim the 44-year-old has emerged as a candidate for both Swansea and Leicester City, who are looking for a new boss this summer themselves following the expiration of Dean Smith’s short-term deal at the club.

However, sources in the East Midlands claim Enzo Maresca, Scott Parker, and indeed Smith, are likely to all be ahead of Hoefkens in the pecking order to take over at the King Power.

Likewise, there are already doubts that the former Club Brugge boss will take the reins at SA1, although a move hasn’t been categorically ruled out. Similarly, Wigan boss Shaun Maloney isn’t believed to be a serious contender at this stage, despite recent links.

Hoefkens’ representatives declined to comment on the links when approached by WalesOnline.
