Take That’s Greatest Days film release date and the Lancashire town that is the star of the show

In spring 2022, the streets of Clitheroe were taken over by the cats and crew of a movie inspired by Take That. And now, just over a year later, the wait is over for locals to see their beloved town on the silver screen, when the movie is released in cinemas on June 16.

To mark the release, the members of the cast who made up the ‘boyband’ along with the film’s director Coky Giedroyc, returned to the Ribble Valley town to re-visit the various locations used for filming during the 10-day shoot. The launch event began with the unveiling of a special gold star at Clitheroe Market, though sadly, Take That themselves, who are listed as executive producers on the film, were not present.

A ‘selfie trail’ has been created to allow fans of the film to visit Clitheroe and take a picture outside the landmarks, shops and iconic locations. Film buffs can spot the locations by identifying a special sticker in the window. Locations include the town’s historic market, Clitheroe castle, Brioche bistro, Paradise Lane and Colborne House Cafe.

Another location was the instantly recognisable and quirky Banana News. David Brass runs the bright yellow shop and says it is “all well and good” for Clitheroe to be chosen for filming.

“It’s great for the town, its brings people here, “David told LancsLive. ” So if it is good for the town, it is good for me.

“I’ve been in business for nearly 50 years, and I’ve seen it all, with filming here before but this is great, especially after covid.”
