The Container Sheffield: A Psychological Horror Experience

The Container Sheffield: A Psychological Horror Experience

Ahead of our trip to Sheffield next week to brave the psychological horror experience The Container I thought I’d bring you this article that will document the before and after effects of this unique immersive and claustrophobic ordeal. We dive into The Container Sheffield.

The Container Horror Experience

Based on true crime events and strictly for over 18s only The Container is a concept conceived by Darren Moon whilst reading one of many true crime books.

Questioning the original idea back in 2019 and studying ways that make people uncomfortable and scared. The original idea has gone through many changes and improvements over time and what results is what we are about to step foot in in exactly 7 days time.

I’m apprehensive I must admit. Scrolling through the waiver it says its not McKamey Manor but that also means that people have questioned it enough times for it to be addressed.

Container Horror Experience

You are video taped during your experience which is like McKamey Manor and trapped in a container with actors who can touch you is intriguing as it is unnerving. They reassure people on their websites that it’s not aggressive touching but it certainly won’t be comfortable for you to enjoy.

It’s a psychological experience and marketed as such so expect to be put into weird situations that will really put you out of your comfort zone and into the unknown. You are asked to wear older clothes so I can imagine you get dirty at some point during your experience.

Participants enter the world of a deranged psychopathic killer by walking into a shipping container. From there on in, the events unfold into a bizarre situation, where you find yourself as others have unfortunately found themselves.

The Container Sheffield

This alone set’s us apart from the typical maze attraction with the familiar clowns, chainsaws, zombies etc. Walking into an unknown situation, with unfamiliar surroundings and a crazy man, is where our our 1 hour experience puts you.

What also makes us unique is the fact that almost all of what happens inside The Container, is either directly or inspired by actual true crime events. What we create is a weird, creepy, dangerous uneasy atmosphere, and our tag-line is ‘One hour you will never forget’

The Container accept either 3 or 4 participants  each 1 hour session, and we open Thursday to Sunday most weeks.

Container Horror

They only do 2 sessions per night, a 6.30pm and an 8.00pm, and it can all be booked on our website www.the-container.co.uk

Each participant is required to sign a waiver before they enter, this covers things like you accept that you will be touched, that you understand that adult themes and language is used etc.

They also recommend people who have heart problems, mental disorder, claustrophobia, seizures, extreme fear of the dark, or are pregnant etc. not to take part. This waiver can be read in full on our website.

Container Psychological horror

Cameras capture your every move and this footage will / can be used on their socials at some point.

Ahead of our trip into The Container I’m excited. After attending over 30 horror events last Halloween (some days we were doing 2 and even 3 a day) I got numb to the majority of jump scares and themes.

The idea of an experience that messes with your head intrigues me as I want to test my own mental strength and see if I can crack under this 60 minutes of pressure.
