Trisha Turner, NYSFRW Chair said,We are proud to present this award to Theresa who is an outstanding and dedicated leader.  She has faithfully served the NYSFRW in a variety of roles including her local women’s club, and the Dutchess County Republican Committee as an officer of the committee.  She exemplifies an outstanding Republican woman who has made a huge difference through service and leadership.”

Theresa’s journey in public service began when she moved to East Fishkill in Dutchess County in August 1997. Eager to make a difference, she quickly joined the East Fishkill Republican Club, becoming an active member within a year.  Recognizing her organizational skills and passion for the cause, Theresa was appointed as the Secretary and Fundraising Chair of the Club.

Her dedication and exemplary work caught the attention of the Chair of the East Fishkill Republican Committee, who invited her to fill a vacant position on the Committee.  Serving as a Committee Member for several years, Theresa’s contributions became increasingly influential, leading to her appointment as Vice Chair from 2006 to 2010.

It was during her tenure as Secretary that Theresa had the opportunity to run a Victory Office in Dutchess County for the Republican National Committee (RNC) in 2010.  This experience brought her into close contact with the Federated Republican Women of Dutchess County, an organization she found truly inspiring. At the invitation of then-President Lydia Biskup (now the current 1st Vice President of the NYSFRW), Theresa eagerly joined the newly Federated Club, quickly becoming an active member.

Throughout her years of involvement, Theresa has held various leadership positions within the Federated Republican Women of Dutchess County, including Secretary and 2nd Vice President.  Recently, she was installed as this year’s 1st Vice President at the 55th Annual Installation and Woman of the Year dinner.

Theresa’s commitment to the NYSFRW has extended far beyond her local club. For the past 13 years, she has dedicated her time and expertise to the organization, serving as the By Laws Chair and Chairperson of the Nomination Committee.  Additionally, Theresa holds the esteemed position of District Director for District 3 within the NYSFRW, a testament to her commitment to advancing Republican principles across the state.

As Theresa proudly accepted the Henrietta Wells Livermore Woman of the Year Award, she reflected on her various roles and responsibilities but cherishes her most treasured hat as a grandmother.
