SATURDAY

Juneteenth, a celebration of freedom, will be held from noon to 3 p.m. in Founders Park on the grounds of the Center for African American History, Art and Culture, 120 York St. N.E. The celebration will feature vendors and more. For more information, visit cityofaiken.gov.

The third annual Unity in the Community event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at New Beginning Ministries, 1411 Columbia Highway N. The event will feature outdoor play, face painting, games, bounce houses, music, sno-cones, hot dogs, hamburgers, vendors and more.

An Amateur Radio Field Day will be held Saturday and Sunday for 12 hours. Members of the North Augusta Belvedere Radio Club and PFC William Hunter Kilburn American Legion Post 26 Radio Club will be at the Aiken County municipal Building, 1930 University Parkway. A Pups N Suds Dog Wash will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare, 199 Willow Run Road. The cost is $20 for dogs under 30 pounds, $25 for dogs 30-60 pounds and $30 for dogs 60 pounds and more. Ear cleaning and nail trimming can be added to any wash for an additional $10. The Aiken Community Theatre Youth Wing will perform the “The Wizard of Oz: The Deleted Scene” at 11 a.m. Saturday at the pavilion at Smith-Hazel Park, 400 Kershaw St. S.W. The show is suitable for all ages and the performance is free. For more information, visit aikencommunitytheatre.org.

The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department will hold a Bingo Ball from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lessie B. Price Aiken Senior and Youth Center, 841 Edgefield Ave. N.W. This event is for people age 50 and older. Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple. Ticket sales run through June 16 and can be purchased at the Lessie B. The Back to Basics Alcoholics Anonymous group will meet in-person at 7 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 961 Trail Ridge Road. Masks are encouraged for those who are not vaccinated.

MONDAY

The Hopelands Concert Series will be held Mondays through June 26Parris Island Marine Band will perform at 7 p.m. Monday at the Roland H. Windham Performing Arts Stage at Hopelands Gardens, 135 Dupree Place. Lawn chairs and blankets may be brought, as well as picnic dinners and non-alcoholic beverages. Parking is at the Green Boundary Club, 780 Whiskey Road. Handicap parking is available at the Rye Patch parking lot on Berrie Road and the Hopelands Gardens parking lot. A Fourth of July Celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, in the Living History Park, 299 W. Spring Grove Ave., North Augusta. Step back in time to experience the birth of America. There will be hot dogs, watermelon, water and more. Come dressed in red, white and blue.

Some suggested items include blue or black ink pens, three-ring binders, dry-erase markers, folders with pockets, crayons, erasers, lined paper, colored pencils, notebooks, washable markers, glue sticks, pencils, book bags, hand sanitizer or headphones.
