BASEBALL
Division III
West Warwick 14, Blackstone Valley Prep 3
Josh Pedus drilled a three-run, inside-the-park home run and added another RBI with a sacrifice fly as the Wizards won their 13th game against only one loss. Logan Dean smacked a pair of singles to drive in three runs and Brendan Griffin had a double and scored two runs for West Warwick. Noah Ferreira had two hits and drove in a run for BVP, which falls to 6-7.
SOFTBALL
Division I
Cumberland 4, Coventry 3
The Clippers scored two runs in the first inning and never relinquished the lead as they edged the Oakers. Mackenzie Norton led the way with three singles, while Reilly Austin and Caroline Lanzi each smacked two hits and drove in a run for Cumberland, now 7-6. The Oakers, who fall to 11-4, got two hits and two RBI from Emily Cronin. Abby Choquette also had two hits for Coventry.
BOYS LACROSSE
Division III
Smithfield 11, PCD/SRA 6
Evan Waite scored three goals, including the 100th and 101st of his high school career, but it wasn’t enough as PCD/SRA lost to the Sentinels. Nick Pike led the Smithfield attack with four goals, while Anthony Mercurio and Cody Van Gorden had three apiece. Ripley Pereira also scored three goals for PCD/SRA.
Westerly 15, Toll Gate 4
The Bulldogs’ Andrew Pietraszka scored a game-high five goals, and had an assist, Liam Cody added four goals and six assists, Caleb Williams had a pair of scores, and goalie Ryder Casady had for saves in the win. For the Titans, Sean Mullaney had two goals and keeper Gerard Schifino made 10 saves.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Division II
Chariho 14, Toll Gate 1
The play of Chaia Elwell (four goals, four assists), Laurel McIntosh (four goals, one assist) and Emily Ballard (three goals, one assist) helped pave the way for Chariho’s dominating victory over Toll Gate. Also figuring in the scoring for the Chargers were Kayden Jaillet (one goal, one assist), Kylie Hoffman (one goal) and Tahlia Novogrodski (one goal). Delanie Wheeler had the lone tally for the Titans.

Barrington 4, La Salle 3
The Eagles’ duo of Garrett Meehan and Zach Spear won their match, 7-5 6-3, to earn the clinching point at third doubles.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Division II
East Providence 3, West Warwick 1 (25-18, 25- 16, 20-25, 25-22)
The Townies’ DJ Lepine had 25 kills, 12 digs and 3 aces to help EP climb over .500, at 7-6. For the Wizards, Nate Vanasse led the way with 21 kills, 12 blocks and 3 aces.
Cranston West 3, Toll Gate 0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-6)
Christian Mak (10 kills), Thomas Pilderian (8 aces, 5 kills, 6 digs) and Chris Harvey (8 kills, 3 aces, 2 digs) led the attack as the Falcons rolled to victory over the Titans. Mike Pella had 3 blocks and 4 digs and teammate Austin Scott also had 3 blocks for the TG in the loss.
Barrington 3, Westerly 1 (15-25, 25-23, 25-10, 25-19)
SangMin Park had five digs and dished for 37 assists, including the 1,000th of his high school career, and Barrington went on to defeat Westerly. Also having strong outings in the win for the Eagles were Max Oberacker with 9 kills and 5 blocks and Luke Van Ness with 21 digs and 3 aces. Westerly’s Jack Kenyon (9 kills, 3 blocks, 1 ace) and James Manfredi (12 digs, 2 kills) put together solid efforts in the loss.
Lincoln 3, Pilgrim 1 (25-17, 25-12, 25-27, 25-11)
The play of Wayne McNamara (9 kills, 5 blocks, 11 digs), Tyler Dickinson (9 kills, 7 blocks) and Austin Noel (24 assists, 4 blocks, 7digs) paved the way for Lincoln’s victory over Pilgrim. Despite the loss, the Patriots’ Eli Kearns put forward a good performance with 19 kills and 2 aces.
Division III
Portsmouth 3, Mount Pleasant 1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-18)
The Patriots’ Sport Foshee had 5 aces, 7 kills, 2 assists and 3 digs and Evan Vogl added an ace, 1 assist and 6 digs. For the Kilties, Eiler Tejera had 10 kills and Dakota Young had 20 assists in the loss.
