Walsall stabbing updates live as man rushed to hospital after ‘group attack’
A man has been seriously injured after he was stabbed in Walsall in a group attack, closing a number of roads in the town this morning. West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to reports of stabbing at the junction West Bromwich Street and Thorpe Road, in the Caldmore area, at 11.40pm last night, May 30.
The 47-year-old was found with serious injuries before being rushed to hospital. Two roads, West Bromwich Street and Caldmore Green, remained closed this morning due to the police incident, travel operators say.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 11.40pm last night to reports of a stabbing at the junction of West Bromwich Street and Thorpe Road in Walsall. An ambulance, paramedic officer, a BASICS doctor, MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a man with serious injuries.

“He was treated by ambulance staff at the scene before being taken to hospital on blue lights for further treatment.” National Express West Midlands and West Midlands Road said just before 7.30am that West Bromwich Street and Caldmore Green was closed, with diversions in place.
National Express West Midlands warned of “service disruption” to buses, saying: “Due to a police incident in Caldmore Green, Walsall, services 4, 4H & 4M are diverting in both directions via: Bradford Street, Wednesbury Road, Bescot Crescent, Broadway West, West Bromwich Road Apologies for any disruption to your journey.”
