Wednesday’s South Shore high school MIAA state tournament scores
Wednesday marked another busy day in the MIAA high school state tournament for the South Shore.
A total of 28 games had South Shore connections. The premier local game of the day features No. 9 Bridgewater-Raynham baseball traveling to No. 8 Weymouth in Division 1 action with a spot in the state quarterfinals on the line. Reporter Jason Snow will be there with updates on Twitter.

BOYS LACROSSE
Div. 1: Hingham 14, Algonquin 5: The No. 5 Harbormen (19-2) advance to the state quarterfinals.
Div. 1: Saint John’s at BC High, 7
Div. 1: Xaverian 13, Marshfield 10: The No. 10 Rams lost at the No. 7 Hawks.
Div. 2 Plymouth South at Longmeadow, 6;45
Div. 2: Duxbury 16, Westwood 3: The No. 3 Dragons will host the winner of No. 6 Scituate/No. 11 Minnechaug in the state quarterfinals.
Div. 2: Nauset 20, Silver Lake 8: The No. 18 Lakers lost in the Sweet 16.
Div. 3: Norwell 21, Shawsheen Valley 7: The top-seeded Clippers will host Pope Francis in the state quarterfinals on Friday (time TBD).
Div. 3: Hanover at Dracut, 7
Div. 4: Abington 18, St. Bernard’s 9: After being tied 7-7 late in the first half, the No. 5 Green Wave ended the game on an 11-2 run to advance to the state quarterfinals.
Div. 4: Nantucket 13, Rockland 3: The No. 11 Bulldogs (15-5) lost in the Sweet 16.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Div. 1: Lincoln-Sudbury 7, Hingham 4: No. 16 Hingham’s upset bid against the top seed feel short in the Sweet 16.
Div. 1: Longmeadow 12, Weymouth 11: The No. 11 Wildcats lost at No. 6 Longmeadow in the Sweet 16. Megan Doyle scored seven goals in the losst while Cameron Flaherty had two goals and three assists. Molly Higgins and Mira Flaherty each scored a goal while Anya Younie made nine saves.
Div. 2: Notre Dame Academy 18, Melrose 4: The top-seeded Cougars (22-0) advance to the quarterfinals with the win.
Div. 2: Scituate 15, Falmouth 10: Charlotte Spauling scored eight goals to lead the No. 7 Sailors to the Sweet 16 win. Katie Tarsala added four goals and an assist. Kate Stone, Pauli Johnson and Anna Feeney each had one goal apiece. Scituate will play at No. 2 Wayland in the quarterfinals.
Div. 3: Cohasset 20, Norwell 4: The No. 3 Skippers will host No. 6 Norwell in the quarterfinals on Friday at 6 p.m.
Div. 3: Hanover 21, Essex North Shore 6: The No. 7 Hawks advance to the state quarterfinals.
BASEBALL
Div. 1: Bridgewater-Raynham at Weymouth, 7:30
Div. 1: BC High 4, St. John’s Prep 3: The No. 7 Eagles advance to the state quarterfinals.
Div. 2: Milton 9, Norwood 3: Top-seeded Milton will host No. 9 Plymouth North in the state quarterfinals. Scott Longo pitched six innings of shutout ball with nine strikeouts and one hit allowed to earn the win. Jimmy Fallon (2-for-4, triple, RBI, two runs) and Jack Finnegan (2-for-4, RBI) led the way offensively.
Div. 2: Plymouth North 4, Holliston 1: The No. 9 Blue Eagles will meet top-seeded Milton in the state quarterfinals. Cody Quinn fired a two-hitter with seven strikeouts in the win.
Div. 3: Oakmont 5, East Bridgewater 0: The No. 20 Vikings lost in the Sweet 16 to the No. 4 seed.
Div. 4: Abington 15, AMSA 2: The No. 12 Green Wave advance to the state quarterfinals.
SOFTBALL
Div. 1: Methuen 3, Bridgewater-Raynham 1: The No. 8 Trojans lost in the Sweet 16.
Div. 3: Middleboro 12, Arlington Catholic 0: The No. 6 Sachems will play at No. 3 Hudson in the quarterfinals on Friday at 6 p.m.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Div. 1: Natick 3, BC High 0: The No. 14 Eagles lost in the Sweet 16.
Div. 2: North Quincy 3, Longmeadow 0: No. 3 North Quincy will host No. 6 O’Bryant in the state quarterfinals.
