Where to see Flying Scotsman in Surrey as steam train heads to the coast on huge tour

The iconic green steam train, The Flying Scotsman turns 100 this year, as it does a huge tour of the UK. The record breaking locomotive was built one century ago in Doncaster and was first introduced to the public in February, 1923.

It was regarded as one of the most powerful locomotives of its time on the London and North Western Railway Line (LNER) and was once also one of the fastest, reaching 100mph in speed. This year the Flying Scotsman will come flying through Surrey and Hampshire as it makes its way on a return trip from London Victoria to Portsmouth.

Fans of the Flying Scotsman will be able to catch a glimpse of this stunning train as it passes through the county. It will depart London Victoria in the morning on Saturday, June 17, and reach Portsmouth Harbour just after midday.
