Worcester Raiders: Jordan Stoddart returns after Worcester City spell

Worcester Raiders: Jordan Stoddart returns after Worcester City spell

Stoddart is back for his third stint with the club having spent last season with the likes of Evesham United, Bewdley Town and Worcester City

“I am really excited to be back! After a season away, it’s a pleasure for me to return to the club,” he said.

“After speaking to the gaffer, my decision was already made. With the new additions through the door since I’ve been away and the boys still there from when I was here last, it makes for some really exciting times ahead.

“I’m back and ready to give my all for the club and help push this club onto bigger and better things. I can’t wait to see some old and some new faces around the ground!”

In his previous spells at the club, Stoddart had been a mainstay in the Raiders defence for a number of years as the club crept up the non-league football ladder.

And after a year away, he is on his way back to Sixways to join boss Karl Gormley.

“Once we knew Jordan was interested in coming back, we wanted to get things done as soon as possible,” added Gormley.

“I’ve known Jordan since he was a young lad and his commitment to football cannot be faulted. He is one of the most dedicated, hard-working players I know.

“We know what he can bring on and off the pitch with his experience which is so vital, Jordan loves the club! He’s never made a secret of that. It took a 10-minute conversation and we both knew that it was the right thing to do.”

Stoddart becomes the first new signing for the 2023/24 Hellenic League Premier campaign, but the club have re-signed a number of their players from last year.

Isaac Cooper, Jordan Murphy and Bailey Fuller have all committed to another year with Gormley at the club, but they are losing captain Joe Billingham, who is off travelling for the next 12 months.

Shay Willock has also returned to Walsall following his loan spell with the club. Otherwise, Gormley has managed to tie most of last season’s squad down to the side for another 12 months as they go in search of promotion.
