Leeds United are still expected to part ways with right-back Cody Drameh at the end of this season, as he prepares for a play-off final with Luton Town on loan.

Leeds sent a number of players out on loan in the 2022/23 season, with some viewed as future first-team players at Elland Road, while others were fringe players looking to get minutes away from the club.

Cody Drameh was one of those who left in January after struggling for playing time under Jesse Marsch in the first half of the season.

How has Drameh done at Luton?

Aside from a howling miss late in the game against Sunderland last night that would have fully confirmed their trip to Wembley in injury time, Drameh’s stint with the Hatters has been brilliant thus far.

The right-back only joined in January, but has been a key part of the side that cruised to third place in the division and is one game away from playing Premier League football next season.

18 appearances this season in the Championship have yielded two assists and an impressive 10 clean sheets.

What’s the latest?

The Yorkshire Evening Post have now provided an update on his future, confirming that the 21-year-old is still set to leave the club in the summer.

Drameh will have 12 months on his deal at the end of this season, and is expected to part ways having been unable to break into the first team on a regular basis.

The destination for Drameh is uncertain as things stand, as he continues to focus on clinching promotion with Luton.

This comes alongside further confirmation that winger Stuart McKinstry is set to leave the club when his deal expires this summer, having spent this season on loan at boyhood club Motherwell.

West Ham v Leeds predictions?

It is a real shame that it’s come to the point where Drameh won’t be playing for us, but that just shows the poor management of him by the club.

He was showing routinely in his first season here that he was too good for just youth football, and the following two seasons have seen him prove that he’s one of the best right-backs in the Championship in half-season stints.

With his deal running into the final 12 months, I don’t expect us to get a huge amount of money for him, which is a shame when looking at the talent he possesses.
