5 places to pick your own fruit in Norfolk this summer 2023

Here are some of the places you can pick your own fruit in Norfolk.

1. A G Meale & Sons

Where: Wayford Nurseries, Stalham, Norwich NR12 9LJ

The farm shop and garden centre posted that their “delicious” pick-your-own strawberries are now open. 

The strawberries are available to pick in their two polytunnels and there are plenty available, but you will need to wait for the outside strawberries as they are not ripe yet.

You can also pick your own raspberries, sunflowers, plums and runner beans later in the season.

2. Sharrington Strawberries

Sharrington’s strawberries are stocked in farm shops across Norfolk, including the one on-site.

Strawberries and asparagus are currently available from the polytunnels and a variety of other berries will be ripe soon.

The farm announces days for picking on its Instagram and Facebook, and the bank holiday was very popular.

3. The Tacons

Where: The Grange, Rollesby, Great Yarmouth NR29 5AJ

You can pick your own delicious fresh fruit including strawberries, gooseberries, raspberries and blackberries on the farm.

The farm shop stocks goods such as free-range eggs, Norfolk Farmhouse ice cream, Norton’s cheese, local honey and homegrown fruit and vegetables.

Open daily from 9am to 6pm, PYO strawberries will be opening early to mid-June.

4. Fairgreen Farms

Where: Hill Rd, King’s Lynn PE32 1RN

Fairgreen offers both pick-your-own fruit and ready-picked available.

The harvest usually starts mid-July, running through to September. People on the mailing list will get an email when they open and the website is also updated.

During harvest, the farm is open 6 days a week for pick-your-own.

5. Cromer PYO 

Where: Amazona Zoo, Hall Road, Cromer, NR27 9JG

The strawberry plants are currently in flower, having been planted slightly later so they would fruit throughout the summer.

They will be ready to pick from middle to late June and open every day. Keep an eye on the Facebook page and there will be a website running soon.

The pick-your-own is situated on the right-hand side of the Amazona car park.
