Domino’s trials pizza delivery by jet suit into Glastonbury

Hungry festival-goers at Glastonbury can succumb to their Domino’s craving now the pizza giants are offering a trial jet suit delivery service into the grounds.

Glasto-campers had the hot tasty goods brought to them in the most unusual way, when a pilot wearing a jetpack landed on the field to bring them their snacks, Superman style.

This is because the fast food giant is trialling the world’s first jet suit pizza delivery to people at the festival in Pilton, Somerset.

Domino’s launched the new trial from its Glastonbury branch in partnership with Gravity Industries, to coincide with this years’ party extravaganza, headlined by music legend Elton John on Sunday.

Nearby residents couldn’t believe their eyes as they wondered if it was a bird, a plane, or just a man in a jet suit holding boxes of pizza.

The suit-wearing pilot took off from the ground at the local Glastonbury store and flew over hedge-lined fields carrying pizzas and sides in a custom made jet suit delivery box.

Natalie Dixon, a party-goer en-route to the world-famous Glastonbury Festival, said: “Seeing a jet suit thing fly over Glasto was wild. I’ve never seen a jet suit, let alone one delivering pizzas.

“I can’t wait to see one land on my doorstep in the future.”

Footage of the ‘Domino’s Jet Suit Delivered Pizza’ first appeared on Tuesday after witnesses saw the pilot in action as he hovered around the local store wearing the iconic Domino’s delivery suit, helmet and customised jetpack.

When the delivery pilot popped two pizzas into a delivery box fixed to the top of the jet suit, he slipped his hands into the jet-engine powered arm mounts and blasted off — talk about onwards and upwards!

He was then seen soaring over the fields of the iconic festival, and handed over pizzas to feed hungry campers before orbiting his way back to the store.

Domino’s partnership with Gravity Industries has made them the first pizza company in the world to deliver pizzas via jet suit.

The suits are worth hundreds of thousands of pounds each and have been customised for Domino’s to ensure the pizzas were delivered with the usual piping hot pizza freshness.

Domino’s jet suit deployment director Sam Wilson said: “When we realised pitching up to serve slices inside the festival was impossible, we took inspiration from this years’ headliner to launch our own rapid delivery trial – it was a bit of a no brainer.

“Every year we see huge numbers of random requests from festival goers trying to sneak pizza into the party, so this year we wanted to take a giant step towards and trial our very own rocket man service to help hungry campers get a slice of sky-high satisfaction in the future.”
